Abstract
Clinical observation on vesicoureteral reflux following renal tuberclosis was -made on 60 cases of renal
tuberclosis seen at 1 st ROK Army Hospital during the period from January 1963 to October 1964. The results are as follows;
1. The most frequent initial symptom was urinary abnormality which participated 55 percent of total.
2. Of the interval from the onset of initial symptom to the date of admision, the one to six months period was most frequent with 28 cases, 7-12 months with 12 cases was the next and within one month 11 cases was least frequent in ¢¥order respectively.
3. Of the 60-cases of renal tuberclosis the demonstrable v-u reflux was 12 cases (20%) by cystogram.
4. The relationship between contracted bladder and v-u reflux in the renal tuberclsis patients was as follows, All the cases of markedly contracted bladder, 5 cases (31.3%) of the 16 cases with moderately contracted bladder, and 3 cases (7.5 %) of the 40 cases with normal bladder capacity were accompanied the v-u reflux and it ¢¥revealed that the incidence of, v-u reflux following the more contracted bladder was increased.
5 . The relationship between the severity of bladder tuberclosis lesion and the v u reflux was as follows,
9 cases (45.0%) of the 20 cases with advanced bladder tuberclosis, 2 cases (28.6%) of the 7 cases with moderate bladder tuberclosis and a case (6.7%) of the 15 cases with minimal bladder tuberclosis were accompanied the v-u reflux and it revealed that the incidence of the v u reflux following the more sever lesion of bladder was increased.
6. Of the 11 cases (91.6%), which is almost cases of the total 12 cases, the v-ufeflux occured on opposite side of primary renal tuberclosis.
